the Price of Health Insurance from a PPO

This is called a Choice Plus PPO plan. Nice coverage for the most part. However, I am a single Dad of three girls and most of my income goes to day care. I pay way too much in the long run for these medical plans. When one of my children get sick, all three end up sick.

The plan that I have is the best that my company provides. But it wouldnt matter what plan you get, they are all way to costly. This one has a 250.00 dedcutible for each person and 750.00 for all. It also has a 2500.00 out of pocket that I have to pay before the insurance company pays for the Dr. visit 100% By the time I am able to pay the 750.00 and the 7500.00 for maximum out of pocket and the 495.00 premium, the year starts over and I end up paying all this money on my own all over again. Is it better to just pay the Dr.s myself? I often ask this and I found out a secret about many doctors. They overcharge purposly because of the insurance company being involvled. If you dont have insurance, they dont charge as much for the service.

A low deductible and OOP plan doesnt mean that this plan isnt costly. Really any plan is costly and insurance is nothing more than a money making scam which makes them richer. But at the same time, if you dont have this insurance, you will regret it as you would probably need some expensive surgery...
