the Price of an Ob/Gyn

My wife went to the doctor for her annual exam which included a pap smear, breast exam, cervical exam, blood test for anemia, urine test for pregnancy, weight and blood pressure check, pulse check, and internal/external uterus exam. We were led into the examination room and my wife was allowed to undress and change into a surgical gown. The doctor then entered and performed all of the above.

This was the last visit my wife made to this doctor. The doctor she saw was new and rude. The doctor had zero personality and no bedside manner. When my wife told her that she has a tendency to cry during the exam, the doctor just looked at her and shrugged! She was quick and efficient but made no attempt to put my wife at ease. After the exam, she gave my wife no feedback. My wife asked her if everything looked OK and the doctor, in front of me, actually said that my wife was too fat for her to see anything and they would just have to rely on the pap results! My wife was crying when the doctor left and we vowed never to go back.

If you have an experience like this, leave. I wish my wife would have left the moment that doctor walked in, but we were financially strapped and this was a clinic that handled low income patients like us (hence the low fee). We never did return and we did write them a letter condemning this doctor's behavior. It was just a horrible experience for us.
