Description of service

We took a taxi from downtown Chicago to O'Hare Airport during the early afternoon. It took about 50 minutes for the ride and the taxi charged us for mileage as well as time when we were stopped in traffic. There were two people so there was an additional $2 charge for the second rider. We also gave a $5 tip to the driver.

Review of Service

We gave a nice tip to the driver because he was a good driver, pretty friendly and he spoke English well so we had an interesting conversation during the ride. We got the taxi right outside of our hotel and he loaded our bags into the trunk while we got into the back seat. There was a plexiglass window between the front and back seats, but we had no trouble talking through it. The cab was clean and the temperature was fine. He drove quickly but did not weave in and out of traffic or stop and go on the brakes so that we would be uncomfortable. It was a pretty smooth ride and got us right to where we needed to go in a reasonable amount of time.

Tips

In any city that you are not familiar with, make sure you have a general idea of how much the taxi ride should cost. If not, you may be charged more than you should.
