Description of service

I had storm damage on the back of my house, the facial board (about 60 feet wide) was ruined by water and had to be replaced. I hired a general contractor who estimated about $260.00 for materials (board, paint, nails, caulk, etc.) and about 20.00 per hour for about seventeen hours of labor (total of $500.00). This included removing the old material (soaked particle board) from the back of the house, prepping the surface, putting up the new board, painting it, caulking, and ensuring everything was properly fitted.

Review of Service

I was very happy with the service, the board has been replaced and the paint is a perfect match. It was cut exactly to fit the back of the house, you cannot tell where the work was done. THe back of the house now looks perfect, no more sagging, wet particle board.

Tips

I would highly recommend asking friends, relatives or neighbors for recommendations on general contractors. Also, always get an estimate first, know what you are being charged for material and labor up front. As a precaution, we paid the contractor for all materials up front and then once we saw the completed job we paid in full for the labor. We were very happy with the service.
