Description of service

If a bank account does not have enough funds to cover all recent transactions, your bank will charge you an overdraft fee will do so for you. You will be charged this fee every time you try to charge money to an account with insufficient funds.

Review of Service

Overdraft protection is great for avoiding embarrassment, and making sure you never end up stranded without cash because of a small miscalculation in funds. The only real problem with it is if you don't notice that you have run out of money, it can become very expensive. Paying a one time fee of $27 is not to bad, but paying $135 because you purchased 5 different items for $1 each is wrong. It would be a good value if the fee were charged only once per day, instead of with every charge.

Tips

Look for an overdraft protection service that fits you. If you only need $100 overdraft protection, don't get more. The more money you are allowed to spend beyond what you have in your account, the harder it will be to repay. Also consider asking if they have a way to limit the amount of overdraft fees that can be charged to your account in one day.
