This was the cost of one day of care from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This price was higher than the rate charged if you are a regular customer.
Review of Service
Our regular after school provider became ill and was unable to watch our son. We had to scrabble to find someone with no notice. We found a place but they were not very pleased about taking on an additional child, which is why they charged us almost twice their normal rate. Our son was not treated the same way the other kids were. The providers made no attempt to incorporate our somewhat shy son into the games the other kids were playing. One of the providers snapped at my son when he did not follow the appropriate protocol for getting his snack - which he was not told about until after the fact. These people obviously didn't want any return service as they did not treat our son well.
Tips
Even if it's just for a day, do your homework! Talk to the providers and make sure they have your child's best interests in mind. Do not leave your kid somewhere that you don't feel comfortable with. Your child's safety and happiness are too important.
