the Price of Tree Removal

We had a large tree that sat in the rear of our land that was right up against the alley way. Our local city enforcement sent us a letter stating that the tree was dangerous to the power lines in the area and they were requiring that we remove the tree. We checked the local phone book and found a tree removal service and they came to our home and quoted us $250 to remove the large Oak tree, which is exactly what we paid. They got the tree removed in about ten hours the very next day.

We didn't want to have to use this service, as the tree was a great source of shade and actually helped keep our home cool in the summer. We have noticed a big difference in the temperature in our home since the tree was removed. Of coarse the city would have fined us big each and every month that we didn't remove the tree, so our hands were tied.

I called around to several tree removal services in our local phone book who all gave me about the same quote. You can do it yourself, if you feel safe climbing trees, but you also have to have somewhere to put all the pieces of the tree and the tree removal company did this for me (it was included in the price).
