Description of service

My husbands employer recently switched insurance companies. We went from PPO to HMO and I really like the change. HMO is a lot cheaper but it does work differently. If you're someone who has to see a lot of specialist then you would want to go with a PPO.If you are someone who just sees your doctor a few times a year an HMO shouldn't be a problem.

Review of Service

We pay about 30 dollars a week for the both of us for health insurance. This covers dental, eye and regular health insurance. Your weekly amount may be different depending on age and health. We get one free eye exam per year per person and I think we get a free dental cleaning as well. The co-pay is $20 for a doctor visit and $100 dollars co-pay for the emergency room. The only difference between this and the PPO is that there are only a few doctors to choose from and if you need to see a specialist you have to go to your doctor first to get a recommendation which will cost you an extra $20 dollars.

Tips

HMO works well for me and my husband because it's cheap and we don't really go to the doctor that much. If you do have a lot of health problems and you regularly see specialists I would just stick with a PPO.
