the Price of a Couples Massage

For valentines day I was surprised with a gift of Couples Massage from my boyfriend. The process was that we were taken into two private rooms that were visible from the other. We could both look over and see the other person getting the massage. We had our own massage therapist. The lights were dimmed at a comfortable level and there was quiet somber music playing softly in the background. The massage lasted for an hour and then we left.

The salon that we went to is a very well-known and reputable place that many people have told me was wonderful. However, the attitude of the entire salon seemed to be arrogance. I did not really feel welcome. I felt more like I was being treated like I was not wanted. The people working there were not exaclty friendly, it was like they had thier own private club and they were the VIPs. The massage itself would have been great for me if I wasn't so sensitive. I felt at times that the massage was too hard and I expressed this concern. The "therapist" stated that was how it was supposed to feel. It wasn't relaxing the entire time for me. My boyfriend was very pleased with his massage and he loves the rough massages. After we were relaxed and our eyes were closed, it wouldn't have mattered if we were together or not.

Next time, I will stand up for myself with more conviction and tell them to stop massaging so hard. And I also wouldn't pay for a couples massage since we weren't really together.
