Description of service

For $50.00, my partner and I took a ghost walking tour of our historic downtown area neighborhoods last year. It was presented by our local historic community neighborhood association (not society) and is something they do every year. The tour took us through some of the older neighborhoods of the area and was guided by a resident of those neighborhoods and a member of the association. She was knowledgeable and made it a lot of fun by telling stories and pointing out specific areas to look.

Review of Service

I have to admit that for the $50.00 I expected a little more than I got. It was a lot of fun and I do not regret doing it, but it it was sort of cheesy and dumbed down for my taste. I was wanting more fact than rumor but what I got was sort of a beefed up campfire story feeling. The tour guide was really nice and you could tell she really got into the role and the story telling, and that is what really saved the day.

Tips

Do not expect too much if you are dealing with local tours. Unless a professional is involved, you may not get what you pay for. It was a fun thing to do around Halloween, but I walked away feeling a bit ripped off. Ask lots of questions and really soak it all in to get your money's worth if you do choose to do a local tour like this.
