Description of service

Last summer we contracted with an Organic Farmers Cooperative to receive a weekly 2'x'3' box of seasonal vegetables and fruits, The price for an entire four month season was $240.00. (15 a week for 16 weeks) The produce came in mixed assortments based on local availability, and came from only organic local farms.

Review of Service

Our experience was wonderful. We ate great food all summer long and were constantly being encouraged to try new things. It was great fun constantly coming up with new recipes based on our available store of Veggies. By the end of the season we had amassed a whole lot of new dishes and ideas, and had became much more aware of where and how our food was coming to us.If your looking to get together with a whole bunch of different farms a service like this is unbeatable.

Tips

If you want to try a bunch of different veggies, and get more connected to your local scene, an organic produce delivery service is a great way to go. Your two main concerns should be that they come from certified organic Farms, and that they are as local as possible. Who wants to eat lettuce from Ecuador, when it's grown within 5 miles from your house. This is also a very effective way to reduce your carbon footprint.
