the Price of a Nanny

We paid $125 per week for a nanny. This was not a live in nanny. She came over at 9am and was with the kids until 2pm. So, it was basically, $25 per day. So, she was paid about $5 per hour. But, we did provide 2 meals and gas money, as well as money for entertainment.

We were really happy with the nanny service. The nanny we hired was in her 40's. She was very good with the kids. We really wanted someone who would be there, primarily, for the kids. But, she went above and beyond. Not only did she take care of the kids, she often cooked us dinner as well. She was very patient with our children. We only needed her for about 3 weeks, because I had a short-term work assignment that I need to complete. We would definitely hire her again.

If you are in need of a nanny, you should first consider her experience with children. You should be on the same page as far as discipline. You should find out what she would like to be paid, and see if you agree with the wage. You should also consider what other things you would like her to do.
