Description of service

I hired a financial planning firm to help me my finances. I had two goals - to improve my credit and to plan for retirement. I had one person dedicated to my account.

Review of Service

Overall the information I got was great. I filled out an online questionnare about current and past financial spending habits and about my financial goals for the future. I was then given a detailed report on the steps I could take to improve my credit in the short term, the long term and also to plan for my financial future. Once I received this I got a call from my dedicated account representitve who went over everything for me. I was able to call him again a few months later when I had a question about how to best handle some new credit card offers I had. The problem I had with this experience though was that once all was said and done I realized that all of the information was information I could have found myself if I'd taken the time to do some research. Overall I wouldn't say it was worth the cost.

Tips

Unless you have really complicated financial issues or are not good at doing your own research I would recommend trying to handle this on your own.
