Tax preparation for a small business with less than 5 employees and assets of less than $200,000.00. I was not given any tax advice or guidance.
Review of Service
I was rather disappointed both with the service I received and with the cost of the service. The price seems excessive considering that my forms were simply prepared (which I could have done on the internet myself). I was not given any financial planning advice and did not receive any suggestions as to how I might save on taxes in the future. I would expect that for the price I paid for this service I would have gotten at a minimum some sort of guidance in the area of taxes.
Tips
My best advice is to go to a real accountant, not just a tax preparation place. Though many of these places aim their advertising toward business clients, their employees appear to be just trained in their software program and not in any actual tax education. Invest in finding an accountant that will take the time to talk with you about your business needs and can guide you in the direction you need to go in order to acheive your business goals. After this horrible experience, I have started looking for an accountant to keep on retainer.
