This included soccer practice, and basic lessons in game play as well as team spirit and sportsmanship, with emphasis on group participation and team unity.
Review of Service
This soccer league is a lot of fun. This is my son's second year being involved in a soccer league, and this season it is a lot more in depth than it was last year. The teams aren't as basic, and there is a little bit of instruction, rules, and more game-play and practice than there previously was. Players get an hour of practice time before games on Saturday mornings, with games immediately following. Teams are nine players, and they play five at a time. At the end of the season there will be a trophy ceremony, and the price includes their t-shirts. Players' parents are responsible for purchasing and providing shin guards, shoes, soccer socks, and shorts or pants. It is a lot of fun, and my son loves running around in the fresh air on Saturday mornings.
Tips
Be patient with the little guys. There is a lot for them to learn, even if it seems very basic and easy for them. For the younger ones, the rules seem rather complicated and it is easier to just tell them to get the ball into the goal, rather than giving rules regarding out of bounds, fouls, etc.
