As a birthday present I bought my husband a skydiving trip as well as photographs and a video of his jump. The skydiving business charged $169 for the tandem jump alone and an additional $99 for the still pictures and video of the event. The $169 included instruction on how to safely use the main parachute and backup parachute. This was for a 10,000 foot jump with 20-30 seconds of free fall.

The skydiving center that we went to was very professional and my husband and I found this to be very comforting. They paid a lot of attention to safety as well as to the comfort level of the customer.
Tips
It's worth buying the still photos and the video of a skydiving experience such as this one. The freefall is only 20 or 30 seconds and it only takes a few minutes after the parachute opens to reach the ground, so having documentation of the event can be really important. We still pull out the photo album to look at the amazing pictures. I'd also recommend that you do a lot of research to find a skydiving center that has a good reputation and that educates you on how to jump safely.
