Scheduled c-section for dog  more... close row

Description of service

We took our dog in for a scheduled C-section. The price included one exam before the surgery date, the actual surgery which included delivering the puppies and spaying, and one exam for the mother and puppies after they were delivered. The vet checked the mom's incision and then looked at each puppy to make sure they were healthy and gaining weight as they should.

Review of Service

Our vet was excellent! He listened to a worried owner (me) and was very reassuring at the visit before the delivery. He stayed in close contact so we could choose the best delivery date for the puppies to assure they were completely developed while making sure that the mother didn't have a chance to go into labor since she'd had her other litter by emergency C-section in the middle of the night -- an expensive and dangerous proposition. He gave us excellent advice and helped us make a good decision about having our mother dog spayed.

I feel certain that he did a really good job because the mother healed so quickly without any negative effects.

Tips

Keep in touch with your vet at regular check-ups for the mother. Find a vet who listens to you and addresses your concerns.
