Description of service

My entire first floor of my house had old hard wood floors that are in bad shape. I called to have a couple bids about new floors or resurfacing them and it was going to be much more economical to have them resurfaced. It cost $2000 to have roughly 1000 square feet refinished. This process consists of sanding a fair amount of old rough wood from the floors then staining and laquering over that to protect the floors for what the man said would be over ten years at least. I guess it depends on the amount of foot traffic as to how long the floors will look nice. The service took about one week because they had to count in drying time before they could start the next step.

Review of Service

I am very happy with my "new" floors. They at least look brand new and it saved me close to $5000. Hopefully they will stay looking this nice for a long time because you can only sand a hard wood floor so many times before they get too thin. I'm sure I'll enjoy these floors for a long time to come.

Tips

Get several bids because you might be surprised to hear that some places are quite a bit cheaper than others. However also be aware that not all companies are created equal. Some try to also judge the company on quality and recommendations from other clients.
