Description of service

My home has hardwood flooring throughout and while the wood was in good condition the finish was almost gone and I wanted them restained. The flooring company I hired sanded them, restained and then resealed them. With tax the cost came to about three dollars per square foot. It took about two and a half days total for the work to be completed due to having to move furniture in and out of rooms.

Review of Service

The workers were professional and the final cost did not go over the estimate. I'm very pleased with the result - finally my hardwood floors gleam and the stain is exactly what I wanted. It took a little longer than they had first estimated but it was worth it. The floors are beautiful.

Tips

If your budget allows, whenever possible try to have this done prior to moving in to the house. By far the most difficult part of the job was moving all of the furniture out and then replacing it after the finish dried. If your floors are being redone in the entire house you'll need to make arrangements to stay elsewhere while the work is being done.

If you have damaged or warped floorboards that require replacement I'd suggest replacing the section yourself or, if you know someone handy, having them do it. It'll be a lot less expensive than having the flooring company replace any damaged sections.
