Description of service
This price is for the repair of the rear passenger door lock. The interior gear of the lock wore out and as well would not respond to the keyless entry system. The lock had to be manually locked and unlocked and would also make a loud screeching noise whenever it was locked due to the gear being worn out.
Review of Service
The service for this repair was excellent. I was able to get the car back the same day. The lock did not make the screeching noise anymore and it responded to the keyless entry remote. I don?t feel that the price for this repair was worth the cost; however, it was the actual cost of the lock that made this repair so expensive. All in all it was really worth it to have a working lock and to not have a loud screeching noise every time the door locks.
Tips
The repair shop told me that repeatedly locking the car with the keyless remote after it is already locked can wear out the gears early. They also said however that after the gears are worn out it cannot necessarily get worse even though it will make a horrible screeching sound every time the door locks.
