the Price of Little League

The fees for Little League really are associated with training aids, balls and bats you would like your child to have at home or if you'd like them to have better cleats. The uniforms are provided by the team through fundraisers. Parents are encouraged to assist with these fundraisers to help their children as it is all volunteer. Should your childs team make it to playoffs or championships it is possible new uniforms will need to be bought.

I am one of the parents that believe that any money put into my child that builds health and skill and gets themoutside is worth it. We live in the area of the Little League World Series which means geographically, most kids participate. It is a wonderful sport that builds self esteem through training and a great source of boredom relief. I have never heard during Little League season "I'm bored." It bothers me when my childs team loses but gives me a teaching opportunity as well. Sense of community and teamwork has covered over after the season and since most of the supplies comes from volunteering I noticed my kids willing to help others without question or cause.

The cost of Little League should not deter ANY parent from enrolling their child. Often teams will have funds available for parents willing to show financial hardship proof. To keep a child occupied, off the street and under adult supervision WILLINGLY I would never hesitate. Watch practices and games and see the difference in your child, as well as watch for any possible issues. Nowadays I would recommend research on coaches and other adults involved with the team. Never has their been a problem with consent to question my local police when a new assistant comes along and it is our responsibility to keep our kids safe. Likewise, if the team turns into something that is harming your child rather than helping I suggest spending some time unannounced to watch practices to see if maybe the winning aspect is getting out of hand.
