the Cost of Baby Sitting

We had plans to go out on our anniversary so we were in bad need of a sitter.Since all family members were busy we needed to use the old newspaper to find one. Luckily we found a high school student who had placed an add in the paper. We have two children and she charged 5 dollars and hour for each child. Although to me that was a bit steep she did bring her own snacks and games for the kids. We were gone for 4 hrs and her fee was 40 dollars but threw in an extra 10 for doing such a great job.

My kids were thrilled with their sitter. She kept them busy and did plenty of activities. I liked the fact she even cleaned up any messes that they made. All dishes were done when I came in and she even took the time to take our puppy out to use the restroom. She followed there bed time and bath time schedule.

Always ask anyone watching your children for references,I can not stress this enough. We usually ask for at least 2 references. Its also a good idea to give them your kids' schedule so they don't get thrown off track. I suggest using a high school teenager because they can always use the money.I also find they have more of an imagination and are more than willing to play with your children. Also if they do a good job don't be afraid to give a little bonus.
