Description of service
After much searching online, we located a reputable graphic designer to rework the logo of our online business, which sells t-shirts to the indie music segment. This designer spent a while going over not only our t-shirt designs, but other companies, music groups, and organizations within our target market, before designing several mock-ups of logos that would fit us. We selected the one we liked best, and he made several files of different sizes, color combinations, and file types for us to use.
Review of Service
The service we received was was excellent, and it definitely paid to do our research before selecting a graphic designer. Although the scope of our project was small, the end result has dramatically changed our business image for the better. We could have gone with a designer who was cheaper and unproven, but we may never have gotten the result we were after.
Tips
If you are looking for a designer, no matter what the scope of your project is, it pays to do a lot of research. Look for designers who not only fit within your budget, but have a nice portfolio of things that they've done for others. Try to imagine other logos as being your own, and see if you'd be happy with that. Also, make sure you budget an appropriate amount for the service. Many people can underestimate the amount of money needed to hire a good designer.
