DSL Service from my local phone provider  more... close row

Description of service

I subscribe to DSL Service from my local phone provider. The monthly charge for this service is 19.99 plus applicable local and federal taxes. This bill ends up being about 22.00 a month when I deduct my phone charges. I am in a 24 month contract and received my equiptment for free.

Review of Service

I have had nothing but good experiences with the service provider customer service. Also, the DSL itself works great, and I was able to install it myself. I just inserted a disc into my computer, and put some phone jack attachments in and it was ready to go. I don't get the fastest speed available, but it works for basic online tasks such as checking e-mail, paying bills, ect. Every now and then the internet will just go out, but I can usually get it to come back up by restarting the box and my computer. There have been times though that I would be without internet for quite a few hours. I think that overall though, it is well worth the money.

Tips

My advice to anyone shopping for DSL would be to consider what speed would be necessary for your online useage. If you download a lot you may need more speed than someone like me. But if you are just doing basic tasks online, I would try a basic DSL service and not worry about getting the fastest service available, it could save you a few bucks. Also, just shop around and find a provider that you are comfortable with.
