Description of service

We recently had a tutor come to help our son with english. We paid $300.00 per month, for three hours per week. She was not a certified teacher, but she had several years of college and was working toward graduation. She helped my son get his homework done, first, and explained any questions that arose. She made sure his answers were correct and made sure he knew why they were correct. Then she went over the readings for the week, and randomly chose something from external books we had chosen.

Review of Service

I was very pleased with my son's progress, and the tutor we hired was as pleasant as could be. The most important thing is that he improves his grades, so we considered the price as a sort of investment in his future.

Tips

Though you may like the tutor you're seeing, make sure your child gets along well with them, too. After all, they will be the ones who have to spend several hours together. If your child doesn't like their tutor they are less likely to put forth the effort they should be putting forth. If they get on well, chances are your child will end up wanting to please their instructor. It's much different than the typical student/teacher relationship. It is very personal, so if you have the option, see a few and let your child have some say.
