Description of service
We used a junk removal service at our house last summer to get rid of a lot of the accumulated stuff. It cost us $460 for what was three full truck loads. The service supplied two workers with the truck to load it for us, we were just responsible to get the stuff out of the house. The truck was a smaller dump truck, but much bigger than a pickup. They worked for almost a full 8 hours on the project.
Review of Service
The price came in higher than was estimated, but for what we got out it, it was worth it. We had no means to haul the garbage ourselves, so it really was handy for us. They arrived on time and worked hard all day, and were really nice to work with. I would use the service again if our things started to build up.
Tips
It seems like it can be hard to estimate how much removal you will need, so be prepared to pay extra. Our service was based on the rate of disposal at the dump. Request receipts if you are billed this way, as it is the only way to ensure what they were actually charged. Also try and have your removables ready to go so you don't waste anytime moving stuff around.
