Description of service
I paid for a short trip to a department store from my home about 4 miles away. This price is for a one way trip. The price coming back was the same so it is actually $20 for a round trip. It includes $2 per mile and a $2 pick up charge. I did not leave a tip.
Review of Service
The service was standard. It got me where I was going. However, it was my first ride by taxi in Orlando and I was shocked at the difference in prices here. When I was in Jacksonville, Fl it was half of that. The cab was clean and the driver was polite. I did have to wait a long time for the cab to come. I think that it was the busy time of day.
Tips
My tip for anyone who will be vacationing in Orlando anytime soon is to be prepared for the higher taxi charges. Especially if you are from a city where the prices are lower. It will probably be better for you to rent a car while here if you don't have transportation. Also, be prepared to wait a while for the taxi to get to you unless you are at one of the attractions like Disneyworld or Universal where there is an abundance of cabs waiting to transport you back home. The worst days to try to get a cab are Fridays and Saturdays in the afternoon or prime evening hours (3:00-10:00p.m)
