the Cost of Dodge Repair

The air conditioning failed to work on my van. I took it to one mechanic and he flushed the system and replaced the coolant. That lasted one day and the coolant ran out again. I sought estimates from two other mechanics and they quoted me $1,000 to do the repair. My small town mechanic estimated the cost at $600!

The entire front of the dashboard had to be taken out and the piece replaced/repaired. Apparently there were several holes in the piece and possible hoses. It took him 3 days to fix it.

I was perfectly satisfied with the service and the fact that he kept in touch with us as to the progress. When I went to pick up my vehicle and to pay him, he said try it out for a few days and let me know how it is, if you are satisfied, then you can pay me. I am not sure that there are maybe not more leaks. Talk about honesty! Even though this mechanic is 30 minutes from me, I will continue to go there to get my car fixed!

1. Remember to use recommendations from other friends, especially if the person is recommended by several people.

2. Look around, and don't discount the smaller mechanic, they have less overhead and can afford to charge less.

3. Never hesitate to use more than one mechanic!
