Replacing a 38 year old furnace  more... close row

Description of service

Our 38 year old furnace finally broke beyond fixing so we opted to replace it with a new furnace. We purchased a gas forced air furnace that was 92% efficient. We made the purchase through our local gas company which offered installation and payments just added onto our monthly bill.

Review of Service

They came to deliver and install the furnace at 10 am and were done by 2 pm. Two installers were sent and the hardest part was getting the old furnace out of our basement. It was quite large and had to be broken down into different parts. They then installed a condensation line that ran to our drain and a nice pad for the furnace to sit on. They then took the instruction manual and walked me through the basics of changing the filter, turning it off and on at the furnace and told me what problems to look for. Overall they did a great job and I really appreciated the walk through of the furnace as it saved me a headache later when I had to change out the filter as suggested every month.

Tips

Make sure to take advantage of deals that the gas companies do. We had both our furnace and our air conditioner installed at the same time and got both for around 2400 with install. Your local gas company can also perform maintenance on it like cleaning the ducts and such. They also most always have a repair plain, which we took them up on as we had had it on our old furnace and then you wont have to pay for repairs or wait to long for repairs in winter.
