Description of service
The service was repair to the sole guard of my dress shoes at a local shoe repair store. It was basically the replacement of the sole guard of the shoe. The $24 represented total fee for the service, including the guard and the labor cost.
Review of Service
I was happy with the repair. Normally, I don't like paying for stuff like shoe repair, and would opt toward just buying a new pair of shoes instead. However, these were my favorite dress shoes that I have had for a very long time, and was not ready to part with them. For $24, I thought it was well worth it to go for the repair instead of giving up and buying new shoes. They came out nice and are good to go again : )
Tips
My advice would be to, for the most part, just buy new shoes when they are in need of repair. It seems that, if you can buy a new pair of good shoes in the $60 price range, but have to spend nearly half of that just for repair, you might as well get a new pair. But in special cases were the shoes are important to you, the repair can be a good option.
