Description of service

I rented a moving truck for 1 day. I used the one-way service because where I was moving from and to were not near each other.

Review of service

I had chosen a well known truck rental company with the best price. The company called me the day before I was to pick up my truck to confirm time and place. I was not that impressed with the gentleman on the phone as he could not tell me where I was to drop the truck off or whether I would be charged extra because I had to pick the truck up on a thursday afternoon an would not be able to get the truck back until Friday evening which would obviously make my rental more than 24 hours. The day I went to go pick up my truck the guys in the office were not overly nice but I could deal with that. So I went about my business brought the truck back to my apartment and started loading it. I received a phone call from the place I was to drop the truck off at the following day. I explained to the women on the phone that I had to be out of my apartment the next day but that settlement on my house was not until 5pm and that there would be no way for me to return the truck in the 24hour time frame and that it would be back Friday night was this ok or was I going to have to pay extra. She said it would be fine not to worry she would make a note. I dropped the truck off at around 10pm and was called the next day and told that I had to pay an extra $60 because the truck was not back on time. Needless to say I was frustrated but there was nothing I could do because they had my credit card information and charged my card even though I explained that the person I had talked to the previous day said I would not be charged for the extra time. Over all I was not that happy with the service I received from this rental company.

Tips

Sometimes the cheapest way is not the best way. Make sure you have in writing or at least have talked to a manager when asking if you will be charged for extra time, and even at that be prepared to fight.
