the Price of a Mouth Guard

My dentist recommended I have a nightguard custom made for me since I grind my teeth at night. The dentist took a mold of my teeth and then sent it to a lab to be made. A week and a half later, my guard was ready. My insurance would not cover the mouth guard, so the full price was $350.

I feel that I received really good quality service from my dentist. He was very professional, gentle and caring. I was very disappointed that my insurance would not cover the mouth guard. Grinding your teeth is a dental problem and the guards should be covered by insurance. I think the mouthguard was really expensive but worth it in the long run because if I didn't have it made I would do more damage to my teeth.

I would recommend that you find a good, reputable dentist if you need a mouth guard made. Ask around; friends and family are usually a good resource for finding a good dentist.

I wish I had known that my insurance would not cover the mouth guard before I had it made because it was pretty expensive and I had not planned on spending that much money.
