We had our dog neutered at our vet. The cost was $55. It took them about 5 hours to do the surgery.
Review of Service
We wanted to use our dog as a show dog and thus couldn't get him neutered. However, he had some health issues that our vet said we needed to have him neutered to help combat his health problems. We took him in and within 5 hours I got a call from the vet that he was ready to come home. When I got him he was pretty doped up. The vet gave us medicine to use for the healing process and to deal with the pain.
We were definitely glad we did it at the vet and one vet we trust. Our dog did seem to be mad at us for a few days but it did deal with his health problems. It also made him less aggressive with other dogs.
The only thing that I wasn't happy with is that the doctor didn't do a very good job of telling us how to deal with him once he got home. Such as the fact that he might bleed, etc.
Tips
Be sure you get all the information you can from your vet before you leave. Even if they're in a hurry, make sure they tell you what you can expect.
