There is a DVD rental kiosk near my home. You can rent new releases for 2 dollars. You can keep them for 24 hours.
Review of Service
This service is great - if you use it right. It's very convenient, being located just a block from my home. I simply go there, swipe my credit card and choose the movie I want. Within 24 hours I must return it. There is a good selection and rarely is what I want out of stock.
The problem, of course, is when you don't return it on time. The kiosk that I use actually charges 4 dollars per day that it's late. These fees can easily add up if you're not careful of taking it back on time.
I also had a problem the first time I used it with being charged twice for the same movie. It had just been installed so I think there were just some glitches. Fortunately the company was very responsive and ended up crediting me for both fees so I essentially got the movie for free.
Tips
Be sure you return it on time or you're likely to see hefty fees. You should also keep an eye out, as the company I use publishes free codes once a week to get a free movie.
