I have a very expensive pair of hand made leather sandals I bought in Italy. The strip of leather that goes between my toes was ripped when I got my foot stuck in the car door. I had this piece replaced. It cost $50 for materials and labor.

They did an excellent job. They did not have the exact type of leather available but managed to make a less expensive type of leather look exactly like the rest of the sandals. If you turn the sandal over and inspect it closely you can tell that some repairs have been done. However, who does that? They had the sandals back to me within 4 days. There was a minor problem as they'd quoted me a cheaper price. It turned out to be more difficult and to require more materials than they'd anticipated. However, they called to explain the situation and to get my OK before proceeding. All in all I was very happy with the experience.

Make sure the shop you choose will get your permission to go ahead if the cost is more than what was quoted to you. If you're getting expensive shoes repaired ask for customer referrals to make sure they know what they're doing and don't make a bad situation worse.
