Had front end wheel alignment done on a 2000 Ford Ranger 4x4 after a hard winter. The alignment alone was 86.16 which included labor. The cost of 2 new tires, mounting them on the rims and balancing was $186.87. $15.10 was tax on the entire purchase.
Review of Service
I've taken my vehicles to this same dealer for many years. They are a large company in the west and southwest of the U.S. Their service is always professional and very quick. Customer interaction is of quality that's hard to find these days. The service and what was to be done was explained very well and they said they would call if anything else needed to be done or if the costs would be more than they estimated. I was given a time to bring the vehicle in and they got it in right away. They said I could wait or they'd call when it was finished. They estimated and hour and a half for the service and they were right on their estimate.
Tips
Always be mindful of your tire wear. If your alignment is off a little, your tires will wear in a uneven way. My experience here was one tire wore on the outside raelly bad while the other wore on the inside. The alignment had everything to do with this. I could have saved the cost of new tires for now if I would have spent the money to have the front end aligned a few months ago.
