the Price of Grocery Delivery from Local Store

We went to our local grocery store and paid for a delivery man to bring our groceries to us. We paid $20.00 for the delivery and $5 for his tip.

It was a fine experience. We picked our groceries out, paid for them and they were delivered about an hour later, right when we requested. They had kept the cold food cold. The delivery man was very friendly and brought all our groceries in and put them on the table. He offered to help unpack but that was unnecessary. For some reason it hadn't even occurred to me to tip the man but he stood around kind of uncomfortably to let me know it was customary to tip. I didn't really like the way he did it but of course would have felt terrible later if I hadn't tipped him so it was fine. The only other complaint I had was that it was raining (that's why we had them delivered) and he didn't do a very good job wiping his shoes. He tracked mud and water in all over.

I would make sure that the place you're having deliver will keep your cold foods cold and you frozen foods frozen. Be sure to tip well.
