the Price of Food Delivery

The price covered the tip over and above the price of the food delivered. Delivery was no extra charge over the price of the food, but the delivery menu prices were a bit higher ($0.50-$2.00 depending on the item) than the takeout prices.

It's a bit more of a taco stand rather than a full-blown restaurant, but they do have drive-through and a few outdoor tables on a patio. Delivery goes from 10am to midnight but the restaurant is open 24 hours.

While getting drive through at the taco shop nearest to my place I saw on the menu a new sign: "we deliver." Cool. My favorite Mexican food delivered. When I picked up the order, I asked the guy at the window for a delivery menu.

I got hungry for Mexican the other night and figured I'd just go out to get food. Then I remembered the unused takeout menu stuck to my fridge door with a magnet.

Overall, I'd say the experience wasn't so great. Portions are usually enormous when I get takeout there, but these were about half the size of normal, though there was still plenty of food and the food was certainly tasty. It's just that I was paying about twice as much for food I could get by driving about two miles from my place. Maybe if I'm at work, can't get away, and want some Mexican food, I'll order again. But not for home delivery.

I never thought I'd be saying this, but there's some times when it's just better to pick up some takeout, even if the restaurant delivers. If the place is close and delivered food is unusually expensive, for example.
