I had cheesesteaks and fries delivered to my house. It was a one dollar charge for delivery versus if we picked it up. They took about 45 mins to deliver from the next town over.

It took exactly as long as they said it would, 45 mins for the food to arrive. It was only a one dollar delivery charge, which we decided was worth it due to the gas prices now a days. It probably took us a little longer to get the food, but ultimately worth it. The delivery person himself was nice enough, I guess. Our whole order was $25 plus $1 delivery and we tipped him $4

Definitely check if there is a delivery charge before getting your food delivered. Some places will charge a percentage of the total, or one or two dollars. Other places will only charge you if your order is under a certain amount, usually $20. Weigh your options and depending on how far away the restaurant is it may be worth it for you. With gas being so expensive, you may spend more than that on gas just getting there. One tip that my boyfriend and I often do, is order our food while we are out, or before we leave work, and then pick it up on the way home. That way you aren't using any extra gas and you don't have to pay the delivery charge. Also remember that a delivery charge is not a tip. Even if you pay extra for delivery, always remember to tip the driver also, so you'll always get good service from your favorite place.
