Description of service

I had a problem with swollen gums. Every time I bit down, I had pain. It got to the point where just brushing my teeth hurt. I visited my dentist who told me that my gums were red and inflamed. He referred me to a periodontist. The periodontist examined me and told me that my gums needed to be scraped and a deep cleaning. I was really afraid but the dental surgeon was wonderful. He was very compassionate and understanding. The experience wasn't fun. However, the periodontist offered me nitrous oxide which really helped me to relax. The entire procedure was done in one appointment. I was required to pay half of the fee up front and the rest after my last follow-up appointment.

Review of Service

I was very pleased with my experience. The procedure was a complete success and I really enjoyed getting to know the dental surgeon. I felt the price was well worth the money spent and the quality of my care was excellent. The periodontist was really knowledgeable and very understanding about my anxiety about the procedure. I have been vigilant about my dental care since the procedure was done and have had no further problems with my gums.

Tips

My best advice is to research the periodontist by using the internet or friends who have had work done and get their recommendations. Also trust your dentist's opinions as well. But, check other avenues for information. Let the periodontist know about your concerns and ask questions. Finally, get a price for the procedure up front and discuss payment options. Don't hesitate to ask for a discount for paying cash as opposed to another form of payment
