When i was riding my scooter, the clutch suddenly became free as if there were no strings attached to it. It was dislocated from its original position and was now hanging simply as a lever with no function. I realized that the clutch wire had broken and hence i took my scooter to a nearby two wheeler repair shop. I had to pay $40 for the service. This included cost of the new wire as well as the labor cost.

The mechanic told me that the the clutch wire had broken as it had become too old. He also told me the breaking of the clutch wire was not due to my rash driving but that it was a normal thing and clutch wires break often; he also gave me some useful advice regarding better maintenance of my scooter. The clutch wire was changed within ten minutes and i was quite satisfied with the service.
Tips
Getting the clutch wire changed is a very small service and you may need to pay anywhere between $25 and $50, depending upon the repair shop and the quality of the wire used. This service can be obtained from any scooter repair shop.
