the Price of a Pediatrician

I took my youngest in because he was coughing a lot. We went into the Doctor's office because the emergency room had sent us back to the doctor. They had diagnosed my son with RSV. If he had been a few months younger this could prove to be fatal for him. Thank God that he was old enough to not be seriously harmed by this. They prescribed some steroids and told me to get a humidifier for his room. I was to make a sort of tent over his crib and it would help cut down on the wheezing. They also did an in office breathing treatment.

The doctors and nurses have always acted in a very professional and nice manner. Some places I've been before like to treat you as if you are an idiot because you are bringing your sick child to the doctor. They were very courteous and seemed to care for my child's well being. I felt like more than just a patient or annoyance, I felt like they were interested in what I had to say and concerned about the things I'm concerned about.

When you go to your doctor, make sure that you and your child feel comfortable. Don't ever let anyone make you feel foolish for bringing your child in. They are doctors and that is what we pay them to do. If we all knew as much about medicine as they did, then we wouldn't need them.
