Description of service

I had a full set of acrylic nails done on one occasion and a "fill" done on another. At both appointments they included a short hand massage. They shaped my natural nails by cutting them close to the end of my fingers for the full set. For the fill that wasn't necessary. For the full set and the fill the used a power tool to roughen my natural nails. For the full set they attached white artificial nail tips. They mixed the acrylic powder and liquid and shaped it onto the tips. For the fill they filled in the new growth between the end of the artificial nail and the nail bed. On both, after they applied the acrylic, they allowed it to harden then shaped the finished nail into a natural looking finished product. They applied a clear protective coat to finish the nails

Review of Service

I thought the service was relaxing, and I felt very pampered. The hand massage was a very nice touch. It made it easier to relax and enjoy the process. I did not like the power tool at all. Once, the technician let the tool slip and it irritated my skin.

Tips

Do not let the technician use the power tool on your nails. Not only can you risk injury, it makes your natural nails very thin. The drawback to not using it is that your artificial nails come off sooner, but your natural nails will not be damaged.

Ask for recommendations from friends who have pretty nails to get the names of good salons in your area.
