the Cost of Air Conditioner Repair

Would figure that in the middle of one of the hottest summers our air conditioning unit would go out completely.I was shocked to say the least that the total cost would be $1700.We had really no other choice but to have it repaired.I was hoping it would be a simple fix but of course it was the outside condenser that needed to be replaced.The 1700 covered the cost of a new condenser and labor. The price for the condenser was 1295 this included the condenser and all extra parts he needed.The remaining $405 was for his labor charge.

Well i hate to give all the boring details but i have to share our experience to warn others.

We called all over the area and in the middle of the summer surprise there a bit busy.We wanted to find someone who would be able to get to our house as quick as possible.We have a 2 story house so air conditioning units was not an option.Finally we received an appointment 1 week after initial contact.When he came out it took a total of 10 minutes to tell us the news that it was the condenser.Of course there was none in the area so it had to be ordered.@ weeks later the gentleman came out and got us up and running again.

When the service repairman came out he said that it is possible to get a used unit.of course for us this was not an option since there was none to be found.I would suggest seeing if you cant find used before going for a new unit.Also we learned to have someone come out once a year to do an inspection to make sure everything is running up to par.Also we received a 10 year warranty with our unit,so I would make sure there is some kind of a warranty with such a large purchase.
