the Cost of Online Advertising

We paid $25.00 for an online classified ad. This included 30 days listed. There were several options for upgrades to make our ad show up higher on the search list, bolded, etc.

This service was good and worth the money. Pretty simple, no bells and whistles. When we placed the ad we offered 10% off of our services to anyone who mentioned the ad. We did this so we'd know how effective the ad was. We ended up making about $2,000 in sales based off of the $25.00 ad. That's a pretty good return - not even counting return business and word of mouth advertising it hopefully inspired. There was no help from this website in designing our ad at all, which was to be expected for the price. Our ad was taken as is and was posted exactly the way that we submitted it.

I would recommend doing what we did and include a discount for people who mention the ad. This is a great way to know how well your advertising is working and to determine if it's worth the cost. Because this is very simple advertising don't bother trying to be flashy. It's best to keep it simple and to the point.
