the Cost of Pet Sitting

My husband and I were visiting our son in San Diego when we got news of a family emergency that we all had to attend. We have a dog who is ten years old and didn't want to put her in a kennel as she has never been in one. My son called a few of his friends to see if we could find a solution to our problem. We came up with having a woman come to the house several times a day to feed and care for our beloved dog. She would take her for a walk each day as well. The cost was $40 a day and she would come over three times a day. She was bonded and we liked her very much as did our dog. (which was the most important thing) She was part of a dog sitting service which had many sitters working there.

The woman did a great job! Our dog was not happy that we were gone, but she was happy to have someone come over and feed and play with her. We were so happy that we even gave the sitter a tip! ($20) It was well worth it to us to come home to a happy and healthy dog.

Don't ever leave your pets with just anyone. Always get references and make sure that you are getting a sitter who is experienced with animals and will genuinely care for your dog as if it were her own.
