Description of service
The fee is for three guitar learning sessions with a musician for an absolute beginner. This is to learn all the basics of tuning, chords etc., and not just to learn how to play one song. All fees and taxes are included. This price is if you already have your instrument. Otherwise, rental will be extra.
There is no explicit guarantee that the student is going to be proficient after the three sessions. However, the instructor indicates that the student should be able to master the basics.
Review of Service
Well it turned out the instructor had a studio about fifteen minutes from our place and upon arrival he has three other students scheduled. Two of them were more advance and the other also a beginner. He had his assistant got us started on the basics of learning how to tune, read, chords and other basics. He would rotate around to check on our progress and answer any questions that we might have that otherwise the assistant did not answer. After the three sessions, I was able to play some rudimentary songs, but nothing extravagant. However, I have learned enough of the basics to be on my own as my goal was just to play some of the songs I liked.
Tips
Make sure you research well for more well known instructors in the area. This not only assures that you would most likely get what you paid for, but also that you would come in knowing how much you would be paying. I myself just called the first couple of places at the top of my list that are closest to my home. Therefore I am thinking I did not get the best deal.
