the Price of Microdermabrasion

This is the price I paid for a dermabrasion treatment at my dermatologists office. The price included all fees involved with the treatment. The procedure was not actually done by my dermatologist but by the beauty technician at his office. The treatment lasted about thirty to forty minutes. Basically, the technician used some sort of large, flat rotary tool and a very grainy scrub and applied both to my entire face.

My friend had a dermabrasion treatment done and was ranting and raving about it. So, I went to my dermatologist and he told me that I would not be happy with the procedure. But. I decided that he did not know what he was talking about and did it anyway. Honestly, I was surprised I still had skin after the procedure was over. Afterwards, if you touched my skin, it was smoother than it had ever been. However, I looked like a lobster. I think the price was reasonable, but I would never do this treatment again. All it really does is exfoliate your skin.

Dermabrasion will not get rid of scars, acne, wrinkes, or discoloration. It just does not penetrate the skin that deeply. Also, if your skin is even slightly sensitive, you could have a reaction like I did. Think carefully about this before you decide to have a dermabrasion treatment!
