the Cost of Ski Instruction

The fee was for simply the ski instruction session and a lift ticket for an afternoon as well as lunch at the top of the mountain, and did not include any equipment. The instruction session lasted approximately 4 hours, and included taking ski runs all over the mountain with varying levels of difficulty.

The quality of this instruction was phenomenal. The instructor was kind and polite and made a great first impression with all of us. The group that I went with was quite small with only about seven people in our group, but the group consisted of all levels of skiers, from beginner to advanced. Though this made the group go a bit slower than I would have liked, the instructor was talented enough to keep us challenged with what he wanted to see from us while we were skiing. For the more advanced skiers, he instructed us on our form and our turns while the beginners were taught how to efficiently manage their number of turns for a balance between speed and control. It was a wonderful lesson and one that taught me more about the mountain and how to appreciate good runs. The instructor introduced us to new runs of varying difficulty once he understood how adventurous/talented everyone was. By the end of the day, we had felt a bond with our instructor and we trusted him to show us a great time on the slopes which he delivered. I would recommend lessons for skiers over the age of 5 or 6 and to all skiers of all levels of skiing ability because they can be informative about the mountain as well as help develop your style of skiing.

I would recommend finding a lesson where all skiers are roughly the same age. While it may be important for some people to find other skiers with the same ability, I feel it is more important to find those with similar age because you will not feel as much pressure and you can feel like you are among friends when you are learning new things. The instructor probably knows more than anyone in the class which makes everyone a student, so finding other skiers of the same age to go with can make it that much more fun because you are all there to learn something.
