Earlier this year, my husband and I paid $200 per session for our daughter to see a psychiatrist. The $200 covered an hour long session one-on-one with our daughter talking to her and listening to her issues. We also got a bi-weekly update on how our daughter was doing.
Review of Service
Our family absolutely adores the adolescent psychiatrist that our daughter sees. She is friendly, empathetic and has gone out of her way to make our daughter feel comfortable and safe in the sessions with her. She is extremely intelligent, personable and insightful, and she makes a special effort to keep my husband and I in the loop without betraying our daughter's confidences. She has done wonders with our daughter and therefore with our entire family. She is always available for emergencies or questions and does an amazing job of being flexible with our daughter's ever changing extra-curricular schedule. She is a wonderful woman, and I am so grateful to her for giving my daughter back to me.
Tips
If you can, get a recommendation from a family member or friend. It is a very intense and personal relationship, and it is crucial to feel comfortable and safe with your psychiatrist.
